The first blog post has to go out to one of my good friends Gbenga Solitude of PartyAddicts Worldwide!
PartyAddicts Worldwide is hands down one of my favorite party promotional companies in the DMV. Their events bring out the best dressed, mature & drama free crowds.

* The Ambiance*
Miami style loft housing 2 Super-large dancefloors, First Class VIP section with Plush beds or Leather love seats, 10 bars (several designated for VIP) and a dance floor the size of Texas to bust a dainty 2 -step or a dutty-whine! As a dancer, I appreciate the hardwood dance floors. I think it gives the venue a clean & neat look. You can find the DJ booth on stage with a stripper pole. Meowwww!!
*The Music*
Just to touch on my favorite DJs of the night!
Plato once said “Music and rhythm find their way into the secret places of the soul” and I have to agree. There's something about a DJ that knows when to play the right songs, how to mix & how to read the crowd bringing them to a place they've never been before. I guess you can call it one's Musical Utopia.
DJ Sam I Am embodies this theory. Sam specializes in African, Caribbean, Hip Hop & Pop & Top 40 tunes. He has the gift of reading the crowd and knowing exactly when to end or keep a song going. Can't forget the "pulllllllll-ups" too!

During my years in NYC I partied hard on the Caribbean scene and ooooweeeee does DJ Fyah Oats bring me back to my happy place :-). He has become a fav of mine. My favorites genres from him are Dancehall, Soca & Calypso. A mix between old school, new school and the school of the future. Heard a few songs I've never heard before and one of my favorite classics; "Bashment Girl" by Wayne Wonder (circa 1996).

*The Fashion*
I am a stickler for a good looking crowd. I feel everyone exudes confidence and eliminates the "hate factor" in the atmosphere. OXYGEN brings out the best dressed Friday night party goers in the DMV. Freekum dresses, mini skirts, leggings, tailored suits, button downs, high fashion, low fashion turned high, eclectic & ready to wear and custom designs all fill the room. Now I'm not saying you wont find a few fashion deprived individuals in the crowd (if only life were PERFECT) but overall most of OXYGEN's patrons are all that and a bag of pita chips in the area of Fashion. Below are a few of my fav looks throughout the last few weeks!

*The Extras*
One thing I love about the venue is the air conditioning. I know, sounds petty, but there's nothing like walking into a nightclub as Little Miss Pretty and walking out Little Miss Scary...haha. Frizzy hair, & a sweaty face is no bueno. The air in OXYGEN is pumping hard which gives me a little wiggle room to whine harder.
*The Wrap Up*
Great music, great atmosphere, professional promoters, professional security staff & an attractive crowd equates to a much needed breath of fresh air on Friday nights......ABOUT TIME, OXYGEN ARRIVES!!!
